General Counsel
Mr. Ha is a results-driven corporate counsel with over 25 years of sophisticated corporate and project finance transactions as well as IP and commercial contracts experience with technology and financial services companies. He has a demonstrated track record of innovation, problem solving, effective negotiations, and teamwork in both start-up and blue-chip environments in periods of growth and distress.
Background and Expertise
Mr. Ha began his legal career in New York City executing and advising on complex business and financing transactions at prominent law firms, mostly at Milbank Tweed, representing the largest financial institutions, Fortune 100 companies, and startups. He transitioned inhouse at Credit Suisse Securities (CS), where his reputation for collaborative teamwork, effective risk assessments, and agile business acumen led him to being recruited by FSI Capital, an entrepreneurial financial services client of CS, to help them expand into new business ventures and innovative financial products.

Mr. Ha would later join Algenol Biotech, a disruptive biotechnology startup at the forefront of biofuels and biochemicals. After Algenol’s pivot to consumer products, Mr. Ha provided independent counsel to cleantech startup companies which led him to head the intellectual property efforts at NextEra Energy and its affiliates, including Florida Power and Light, to grow and monetize renewable energy IP portfolio, before being recruited by Urbix to become its General Counsel.
